My “Grounding” Holding Pillow

Grounding, the tree roots reaching down, anchoring themselves in the earth, spread out wider than the branches.

This is my latest Holding Pillow called Grounding.

It began with the red velvet.  The first strip of fabric came from a printed image of one of Carol Conklin’s batiks.

Grounded, rooted, secure.  That’s what the first chakra, the red chakra is all about.  The one at the base of the spine.

And that’s what this Holding Pillow is all about.  Deep reds and rusty browns, colors of the earth.
