Magic In The Spring Light and Blood Moon

The Moon sculpture by Ed Gulley that hangs from the eave of my studio.  Depending on how you look at it, it is a full or new moon and a waxing or waining moon.

The spring light has me in its grip.

A few months ago, as the days grew shorter I was in the house by 4pm. Sleepy and ready for bed by 8.

Now with the naturally longer days and day light savings I find myself not wanting to leave my studio.  Just a little longer I say to myself as my energy soars and I add sew one more stitch.

The light fills my eyes opening them wide.  It quickens my breath and loosens my heart.  The winters slumber is done, I think as I unplug the lights on the porch.  The ones that lit up the night on the darkest days.

Tonight the Blood Moon Luna Eclipse (I’ll set me alarm for 2am) and a week from today the first day of Spring.

Surely there is some magic in that too.
