Postcards To The White House. A Message From One Letter Carrier Who Saw Lots Of Them

For everyone who send a postcard to the White House I wanted to pass this message along that Paula, who is a letter carrier, left on my blog:

“Hello Real Americans, I wish I would have known about this earlier! I am a Letter Carrier, and have been brought to tears with the amount of postcards I have picked up from my route today! I must admit I have read almost all of them! I had to quit, in order to not do the “ugly cry”, as USPS is next in line for the “chainsaw”.”

I got chills reading Paula’s message.  It’s a great indication of Postcard Campaign being successful.

I don’t know if it will make a difference to the people in the White House, but it’s a way for us who wrote the postcards to come together, to get motivated and to take an action.  It’s a start and who knows where it might lead.

  1. My hope is that someone from the White House will read the messages that the citizens are sending! The messages have valuable information that could be helpful if read and taken to heart.

      1. I have my douts as to whether any of the postcards were even delivered. Trump or one of his minions probably forbid the Post Office from delivering them, or just had them thrown in the trash. There were NO reports in the news at all. Sigh.

        Very disappointing

      2. I doubt it too JoAnn. but I honestly didn’t expect the cards to get through to Trump. But someone had to throw them away and lots of mail carriers saw them on the way. That’s something.

  2. I wonder how many postcards were received at the WH. I hope it was a “bigly” success. Not much media on the results of this event. It was therapeutic for me saying “You’re Fired!”

    1. I doubt we’ll hear about it on the media Virginia, but even just the messages I’ve gotten are a lot. We’ll just have to trust it I guess. There’s really no way to know unless someone from the White House wants us to know and I doubt anyone does.

  3. My daughter, my sister and I sent postcards. We loved the idea and it felt good putting our thoughts and feelings on paper. Trump can try to ignore the citizens of our great country but we need to continue to make our voices heard. We are no longer “the silent majority”.❤️

    1. I doubt we’ll ever get a sense of how many postcards were sent Deborah. But like you say it felt good to do for a lot of people and it will be heard one way or another. Even if it’s just by the person who tosses them in the trash. We know the postal workers felt it.

  4. My guess is that every person we see protesting across the nation sent postcards. Berney Sanders alone draws crowds in the thousands. I can picture bags and bags of postcards- truckloads of bags!!! And we can keep it up! Thank you to the organizers! It’s so personally gratifying to stick a pile of postcards expressing how I feel about The Felon and his Tesla Henchman. Just thinks “bags and bags and bags!” Yeah!!!!

  5. I sent 50 of them and it was very therapeutic. Thinking of things to write helped me get a handle on my anger. All the subjects I care about went on to the postcards, one by one. “Slava Ukraine” “Protect our trans children” “tRUMP and Musk-rat: you’re fired” “Don’t touch our Social Security and Medicare” “Stop gutting the EPA” “Zelenskyy is 100 times the man Trump or Putin is. He’s a hero” and my personal favourite…

  6. When I went to the P.O. to buy postcard stamps, the postmistress asked, “Are these for the Cheeto”? I said, “You bet they are.” I sent 5 postcards.

  7. There is NO news coverage of the postcards. And the only video of them being delivered was removed in Reddit. VERY disappointed.

    1. Oh interesting that there was a video Sarah. I never expected them to actually reach Trump, someone would have thrown them out before that. But it still happened and many people are aware of it, just because we don’t see it in the media doesn’t mean it was a failure.

  8. I know I sent 10 cards myself. It was so cathartic. I have been so miserable since Trump won the election but even more so since he took office. Even knowing what an evil person he is, I still hadn’t imagined the cruel things that man would do. I did not hold back. I told him exactly how I felt. I bought a set of funny cat postcards and let the cats do the talking.

  9. I would suggest sending postcards to Democratic congressmen to simply say thank you for their efforts to uphold the constitution and sending postcards to Republican congressmen to encourage them to stand up to Trump. If postcards came from all 50 states it could have a serious impact.

  10. I had 63 postcards with photos of the National Parks on them, every single one was mailed to the Felon. I would love to hear more stories.

  11. I sent 13. I used Kansas souvenir cards and New Orleans souvenir cards for my sister in LA. If anyone in DC saw them I wanted them to know they came from “RED” states. Some of my messages:
