Celebrating The First Day Of Spring

Pussy Willow blooming in the marsh

On this first day of spring I walked through the pasture to see what was sprouting.

Thin green grasses popped up overnight in the flooded marsh, and the pussy willows have begun to flower.

My garlic has pushed up thought the leaves.

And amazingly, a clump of Iris’s I dug up in the fall and left by mistake under the rhododendron bush  survived.  The bulbs have been exposed all winter long, yet inch high green leaves are growing above them.

Jon’s and my Knot Blessed Bracelets

To celebrate the Spring Equinox, Jon and I created some Knot Magic, with a simple piece of string from the kitchen drawer.

I brewed a pot of camomile tea which came from my garden.

Then using my Witches Calendar as a reference, we tied three knots with a personal blessing for each of us,  blown into each one.

Then we tied the string around each other wrist.  We’ll wear them until the fall off.
