My Deep Woods Holding Pillow was just what Gail was hoping for. She was on my list of people who want one of my Holding Pillows. But it was already sold, so today I made Gail a pillow in keeping with the colors of the deep woods.
I kept seeing a narrow ravine filled with moss and ferns when thinking of this pillow I was going to make for Gail.
I did a few pages of fern drawings before I came up with one that I liked.
For my Deep Woods pillow I was inspired by the spring ferns just unfurling. For Ferns in the Glen I wanted more mature ferns, the kind that stay green all winter.
Ferns in the Glen is sold.
Maria, your work process is so intense. I can’t wait to reach my place in line.

Soon Micki. :)
Maria, your holding pillows are so beautiful. The perfect mix of colors and pattern. Each has an integrity that feels like it could go no other way. Every one becomes my new favorite. But not really because I cannot love one more than the others. So I guess they’re all my favorites!
Thank you Lois. Each one does have it very own personality (not sure that’s the right word). But individuals anyway. I appreciate that you can see that.:)
