Suzy’s Shawls

Last year I bought one of Suzy’s Shawls for Jon for Christmas.  He wore it in his study when working, but this winter I began wearing it in the evening.

For years Jon has wanted to buy me one of Suzy’s shawls.  But I always told him I don’t wear shawls.  I’m not sure why, I guess just because I’d never done it before.

But this winter when  I wrapped Jon’s shawl across my shoulders, and tossed one end around my neck,  it became mine.  Not only did it keep me warm, but it hugged my body as if it were tailor made for me.

Of course it wasn’t, Suzy made it for Jon, but it seemed to adjust to my body, to drape with elegant purpose.

But I also love the feel of it, on my bare neck and the touch of it’s spongy softness in my fingers.

Like a farmer, always thinking a season or two ahead, Suzy is already spinning her roving into yarn and knitting that yarn into shawls that I’ll sell on my blog this fall.

She sent me this picture of the shawl she is working on. Golden and creamy warm in its colors as well as its mohair and wool.

    1. Oh Lauri, That’s just perfect, It would be a wonderful name for the shawl. I’ll going to save your words for when it’s all done and time to sell it.
