Tracey asked me if I could make a Holding Pillow for a friend who is sick.
So this morning I went into my studio and thought of what would be a healing color. I even googled “healing color”, but it seems like, depending on who you listen to, almost any color can be considered a healing color.
I decided to go inside myself and see what felt healing to me at the moment. Blues and green kept coming to me so I decided to once again start with the strips of fabric. I emptied out my bags of blue and green scraps, pulled out a bunch that spoke to me then arranged and rearranged them until they worked.

Then I looked for the solid color. Now it came easy, that blue linen jumped right out at me. Then the crocuses announced themselves. Purple of course. Those small strong-willed flowers that take on the snow and show up when we need them most. A single flower as mighty as a lawn full.
My Crocuses Blooming Holding Pillow is sold.

I think blue and green perfect healing colors. But perhaps because they are my favorite colors together with a splash of purple…just like this beautiful pillow. Love hearing about them!
Well they felt healing to me too Barb. Each pillow does have its own story. I think that’s part of why I enjoy making them. And that I feel I can continue making them.
