It was overcast but warm when I decided to clean out my garden this morning. I guess those little green sprouts were calling to me.
I raked away the soggy leaves that have been blanketing my gardens since the fall. And as I did the sun came out as if in affirmation.
“Thank you,” I said out loud. “Dry up the winter damp today and tomorrow water my gardens with spring rain. ”
I raked the two gardens by the back porch, the garden by my studio (where a forest of sunflowers are sprouting from seeds that fell from the bird feeder) and put kale and lettuce seeds in my vegetable garden.
Zinnia and Zip kept me good company, while the donkeys and sheep nibbled through last years leaves and Fate sat at the gate watching.
