Free Army Of Good Magnets, Just Send Me Your Address and I’ll Send You An Army Of Good Magnet

The Army of Good Magnet. Email me your address  at [email protected] to get your free magnet.

It was Jon’s idea to make a magnet.  Something we can give to all those people who are The Army Of Good.

It’s been just about ten years since Jon started the Army of Good.  An unofficial organization of people who don’t know each other except through Jon’s blog.  People he doesn’t even know.  But they give to those in need.

Jon asked me to make the magnet.  “You know,” he said,” something like your drawings.”  Simple and direct, something real.

But I didn’t know.  My drawing are pictures and the words Army of Good are words.

So I tried.  I made a few different versions, but they weren’t what Jon had in mind.

“Show me,” I said and handed him my sketch pad and my sharpie marker.

Jon simply wrote the words Army of Good.  Then he wrote them again and then changed it to “I belong to the Army of Good.”

Then he asked if he could have a pencil.

Two more times he wrote the words,  he drew a heart around the final one.

“That’s it,” I said.  “It’s perfect, and only you could have done it.”

The magnet is a way to say Thank You but I also think of it as a kind of dot-to-dot between all the members of the Army Of Good.  I can picture it on a map of the United States, all those dots and the lines between them.  It’s just another way of connecting us.

So if you’re a member of the Army of Good, if you’ve contributed in the past or contribute now, and would like an Army Of Good Magnet made by Jon, just email me your name and address to me at [email protected].   As soon as the magnets are delivered to the farm, I’ll put one in an envelope and send it off to you.

(Thanks to a member of the Army Of Good for providing the stamps!)
