I couldn’t be more worn out if I worked all day, which I didn’t.
I went with Jon to his doctor’s appointment this morning and from the time we got back till it was time to feed the animals, we were on the phone with his insurance company, who had mistakenly cancelled him.
I know it could have been worse. Bad news from the doctor or no insurance at all. And I kinda believe by the time we were done, it was all sorted out. But I admit, I don’t completely trust it yet.
What I did do while waiting, talking and listening, was practice drawing Calla Lilies, since they were what was in front of me on the dining room table.

It was such a gorgeous day, bright blue sky, warm sun and a spring breeze, so after feeding the animals I picked up poop in the back yard and thought how I’d rather be picking up dog poop than talking to the insurance company on the phone any day (the melted snow has revealed lots of poop in the back yard).
I got to my studio for a bit too. Only an hour or so, because when Jon asked me if I wanted to sit outside for a while I couldn’t resist.
We put our faces toward the sun and watched Lulu eat a stick, while Robin called out to me to open the gate to the south pasture. (I didn’t open the gate because we need to let that grass grow for the spring and summer).

It’s been months the sheep and donkeys could roam around the barn yard without plowing through snow. All the mud is already drying up, not close to the sludge we had last week as the snow slowly melted during the day and froze over night.
I don’t expect this weather to last. I know some cold days and even more snow is probably on the way. But this taste of spring has lightened all our spirits.
Even Fate and Zip were back at it. Fate stalking Zip, while Zip plays it cool.

“… I’d rather be picking up dog poop than talking to the insurance company on the phone any day….” I burst out laughing at this, and completely, totally agree!
