Anyway, my nephew, recognizing that when a cat does what Zip is doing here, it is marking its territory with the scent glands on its face, much like a dog marks its territory by urinating. Therefore, my nephew calls the result of the cat’s action “face piss.” The first time I heard him say this I laughed out loud with delight because it’s so accurate (if also a bit crass).
I love that Susan, face piss makes sense to me. I see the many of the animals marking their territory in different ways. Every time one of the dogs pees in the backyard, Bud runs over and pees on top of it. Asher will sometimes rub his face on my arm or leg and I know he’s doing the same. “None of that.” I tell him when he does. :)
