It’s snowing again. What I call a spring snow. Even if it amounts to something, it won’t last long.
When I told Suzy it was snowing here, she said her father called the last snow in April (there was always one) the Onion Snow.

I gave the sheep and donkeys some of the last of the second cut hay. It won’t get too cold tonight, but if they have to put up with the snow they may as well have a special meal.

I looked at the sheep as they ran to the gate and thought this is where the wool comes from.
We do this everyday together. Me feeding them, making sure they always have water, cleaning out the barn, checking up on them and making sure they’re healthy. Spending time together, living our lives together.
The sheep give me the joy of being able to care for them. Of taking their pictures and of course giving me their wool.
But the circle extends beyond the farm to everyone who buys a skein of wool and makes something from it. And if they give what they create to someone else, that broadened the circle even wider.
I thanked the sheep and gave them each an alfalfa treat.

The donkeys got treats too, because they do their part protecting the sheep and the rest of the farm and just being themselves.
Our sheep’s wool is now for sale in my Etsy Shop. You can see it and buy it here.
