Terry And A Skein Of Constance’s Wool, Hoping To Inspire…

“I’m going to knit a couple of ponchos…. My sister is an expert knitter and will be helping me. I think it will be a great meditative project in these trying times.” The message Pam sent me on Etsy after buying Merricat’s wool.

Every time I see Terry, at the  Cambridge Food Pantry (where she volunteers much more than I do),  or when she come to the farm with her grandson Braeden to brush the dogs and donkeys and help feed the animals, she is wearing a different hat.

Terry loves to knit.  She made a scarf for Jon and a shawl for me.  She gives away much of what she makes.

When I wrote about my wool not selling, someone wrote back to me and said she wants to start knitting again, but she doesn’t have any ideas about what to make or how she would do it.  She said if she saw a picture of something made from my wool it might inspire her.

So I asked Terry, if I gave her a skien of wool, would she knit something that was easy to make from it.  Something that I could take a picture of and post with instructions to inspire someone who wants to knit, but needs a little help.

Terry agreed and chose Constance’s light gray wool.

Today when she and Braeden came to take care of the animals, I gave her wool.  “It’s nice and soft she said, “and a good weight. Now I can’t wait to get home and start knitting.”

Today I sold the last three skeins of Constances wool.  I only have one skein of Issachar’s left. (Thank you all again)  But I’m just as  excited to see what Terry makes and I’ll  post its picture on my blog, with instructions.  Maybe it will get someone started.

And next year, when I get my wool back, I’ll post the picture  again with the simple instructions and maybe someone will want to try my wool, to make something for themselves or for someone else and  to enjoy the meditative act of knitting.
