I decided to make a magnet of my ewe Kim because so many people have told me how much like her. She has a sweet face and has always been a sensitive and gentle sheep. She has also always been skittish, but the older she gets the calmer she has become.
Kim is my only Karakul and my oldest sheep. The only sheep left from my original flock she is about 12 years old. She has some trouble with her back leg, but is otherwise healthy. All winter long she and Lori, my second oldest sheep, came into the pole barn to get grain to help sustain them through the winter.
Now Kim is one of the first sheep to come to the gate to get treats. She pushes her way through Asher and Issachar and takes a treat right out of my hand.
She and Asher spend a lot of time together, I get the feeling he’s protecting her. He loves to eat the hay from her wool.
