Two red squirrels left two days in a row, in the hay next to my Rapunzel Chair in the barn.
Dead, but whole
a gift
or
proof of good work, well done.
They sounded like a busy city street in the walls of the house.
Now, it is quiet as a country night.
(I left the squirrels in the pasture by the trees the crows roost in. Both were gone the next day.)
