I didn’t tell you
about the day I went into the woods
and they were suddenly green.
I didn’t have the words
to let you know
how it made me feel.
Even though it happens every year,
I can’t imagine the green when it’s not there.
It’s sudden and slow
at the same time
Because as green as it seems to me now,
I know that soon I won’t be able
to even imagine
the winter woods.
With space for sky and echos of things lost.

I stared at this picture for a long time wishing I was back in Connecticut where my husband and I used to wander through the woods. Oh, how I miss that. There are beautiful places around here to but too far for us to go now. Thank you for that beautiful picture.
I’m really glad you could see it Uta. Even if you can’t be there.
