I sat under the apple tree, Zip on my lap and watched a starling fly into the branches above my head.
The bird, surround by pink and white apple blossoms, had a worm in her beak. They didn’t fly directly to the hole in the paper birch twenty feet away. First they flew onto a branch. Then, their twig-like feet gripping the bark, hopped down the branch to the trunk of the tree, gradually getting closer to the hole under the mushroom.
The starling waited for their mate to fly out before going into the hole in the tree.
I finished stitching 10 Starling in the Paper Birch Potholders today. All the same image yet each one an original drawing, individually stitched.
I will finish making these into Potholders this week. I plan to have them in my Etsy Shop on Friday. They are $30 each + $5 shipping for one or more.
