My Potholders are a staple of my work and my Etsy Shop. I like to try and keep my shop stocked with them so when people are looking for a gift or realize they need a new Potholder, there are a few available to choose from.
Also, I love making Potholders. Each one a little quilt that I can make quickly and sell inexpensively.
I never know what kind of Potholder I’m going to make when I go to my studio with the desire to create them. I walk around my studio, looking at the fabric on my shelves and sifting through my bags of scraps till something feels right.

The first Potholder of the day always takes a long time to make. I’m figuring out what I’m feeling and what I’m trying to say.
I knew I wanted bright colors today and I was thinking mostly green. That came from my morning walk in the woods where the sun lit up the pale green leaves making the whole woods glow.
But when I saw the flower fabric in a bag of scraps that Karen sent me, I was hooked.
As I sewed the fabric around the flowers I found myself thinking there’s a garden in my heart.
So that is what these Potholders are called. I’ll finish working on them next week and have them for sale in my Etsy Shop when I get them all done.
