I found these barn swallows eggs on the ground under one of the nests in the pole barn this morning.
Four pieces, two eggs, two baby barn swallows so far.
Then, this afternoon, I heard a chirping from the maple tree outside my studio loud enough for me to come out and see what was going on.

Right in the crook of the tree is a nest. I was only able to see it because the sun was at the right angle to light up the beaks of the baby birds as they called for more food.
Earlier in the day I saw a robin out my studio window hopping around with a worm wiggling in its beak. I’m not sure if it was a female or male, they look very much the same. But I have no doubt that it was a parent to the birds in the nest in the tree.
The robin was going back and forth feeding the babies, so I put the chair from my studio under the tree, got my camera and waited.
It wasn’t long before the robin was back to feed her babies.

In about two weeks, the babies will leave the nest. But I’ve read that Robins have at least two broods and sometimes even three. So between the barn swallows and robins, we’ll be in baby birds for a while.

Oh, how delightful! The Robin next to my front door on top the light fixture is on her second brood. If I’m quiet and go slowly to the front door, she stays in her nest. :)
Ah your Robin trusts you and is so much closer than the one in our yard! how nice….:)
