I Started A New Meditation Mat Today, A Sage-Green Garden and Sea

I started working on a new Meditation Mat this morning.  The scraps  that inspired me came from a box of fabric that Chris sent me.  A little pink flower in a sea of green not more than three inches tall.

Soft sage green, that’s what pulled me in.  Then I went through the latest bag of scraps that Karen sent and there were the 2″ sage colors squares, most of them already sewn to a darker green, and just one the right size for my pink flower.

That’s how it began then, I just kept sewing the scarps I’d pulled from the box and from my older stash.

Once I had that first strip done, I looked for what came next.  I was surprised when I found the piece I was looking for.  It comes from some yardage of fabric that I’ve had for a long time. I even used some if it for a scarf when I was Bellydanicng.

The colors worked perfectly as did the three petaled flower and the four leaves surrounding it.

I didn’t finish the top of the Meditation Mat, but I have the pieces that I think will mostly complete it.

Above is one and below is another.

I have another small square of rocks and that blue line will be pencil thin like the others.

Even  just looking the pictures as I write this, makes me want to go back to my studio and continue working on it.
