In between cleaning out the chicken coop, brushing the donkeys dogs and Zip, and feeding everyone who will eat them, the small apples that are falling from the tree, Braeden is getting to know the sheep. And they are trusting him more and more every week when he comes to the farm to help out with some chores.
Today Issachar cuddled up to Braeden and they just hung out together for a while. Later Kim took an apple from his hand for the first time. After that he gave her some grain and was correct when he said that now she wouldn’t be afraid of him as much.
He and I usually brush the donkeys together, they move back and forth between us, I guess giving us each a chance to brush them.
Braden has become a part of the farm.
There are still a few of the sheep who will only come around when he has carrots and is behind the gate. But Braeden is slowly gaining their trust every week. He is patient and never tries to get any of the animal to come to him if they don’t want to. But he is fair, he’ll toss a treat to Merricat, Constance or Lori to make sure they all get at least one.
