Potholder Give-a-way

Two Potholders that I’m giving away

Here it is, the first give-a-way in the Common Thread Give-a-way.  Two of my potholders.

Now that I’ve started making my Manly Potholders, I find that I’m assigning a gender to all my potholders.  But to me, these two both seemed a bit androgynous.  Sure the one with the pink is a bit more feminine, and the other a bit more masculine, but they seem less defined to me.

Anyway, you have to chance to win both of them over the next few days.  If you’d like to try, just leave me a comment saying so and you’ll be entered in the contest.   I’ll announce the winner Wednesday Evening at 6pm .

And don’t forget to check out the other artists who will be giving a piece of their work away in the coming months….

  1. Love these potholders, they would go so well with the Booty potholder that I got from you. Maria, may you and Jon have an enjoyable book tour and that you return with many new ideas!

  2. Jon I would be honored to receive one. It would never see a pot. I would frame it and hang it in our kitchen. The story of Rose is in the top five books I have read. I see a lot of myself in your blog. Max and Katlyn (our Border Collies) are in your writings as well.

God bless you and Maria and the New Bedlam Farm. Guess you are already.

  3. Hi Maria,

I’d love to win these wonderful pot holders! The one makes me think of summer and the other, Fall. I’m crossing my fingers!

  4. Count me in for the inaugural Common Thread Giveaway! I’m sure those potholders would love to join two of their “kin”(“Happy Cats” & “Celestial” Maria Wulf potholder originals)hanging on our kitchen wall!

Thanks, and good luck to everyone – what fun!

    Kathleen : )

  5. Hi, Maria! I LOVE your potholders and admire your creativity. Thank you for sharing your talents and life with us.

  6. Oh, I love the colors and patterns of these two. Yes, please enter me into the drawing.

I was also wondering, do your potholders have a piece of fabric on the back to slide one’s hand into? Open on one side, stitched on the other three, in order to help keep them on the hands and the hands protected. I’ve had oven mitts for the longest time, not potholders, and can’t remember if that is a standard design of a potholder. Anyway, I was just wondering.

    Thank you!
    JoAnne

  7. I would love one of your potholders. I’ve often thought about purchasing one of your works, I love them so, but my budget is so tight it squeaks these days. At any rate, checking in on your blog and Jon’s most days has made me feel almost as if we are personal acquaintances, friends even. I would treasure one of your creations in my home as a physical reminder of your good works and good words and real presence in the real world – not just in cyberspace. Have fun on the tour! A shame you won’t be closer to Kansas City!

  8. Oh, yes please! The bluey one would be perfect in my kitchen and it would be so fun to have one of your potholders, Maria.

(I wonder how your work will evolve in the Schoolhouse Studio…exciting!)

  9. I’d love a chance to win the potholders. I always enjoy seeing how you choose to combine different colors and patterns.

  10. HI Maria, thanks for the chance to win the potholders, please enter me in the giveaway. Enjoy the booktour – maybe you’ll get time for a little fabric shopping in some new places! Hannah

  11. Maria,
It has been so lovely to see you grow as an artist! Thank you for all you do, love on the animals, paint, and juggle it all while still being so creative. Your dreams and visions are fascinating. I came to buy some of your work last October, but it was sold out. I love the turquoise in your potholders. It would go really well with an old pine cupboard I painted a dark turquoise and purple is a favorite color-I would love either potholder shown, so please enter me in the contest. Shine on!

  12. Would love to enter for your potholders. Just began reading your blog recently. Good for you for “daring to be different”, “breaking the mold”, “following your heart” etc. etc. Love what you do.

  13. Hey Maria,
I won’t frame it, I’ll use it like I use my grandma’s silver when I have all my kids under the roof again for a meal. Functional art, like china and silver, is meant to be used and cherished to enrich our lives. I like the tweedy one and pink doesn’t intimidate me. You gals can’t hoard all the good colors.

  14. Please do enter me in the drawing to own one of your lovely works of the heart, and very special ones, at that! Thank you, Maria, and happy travels to you and Jon. I am sure the trip will be very worthwhile and joyful.

  15. I would love to add these beautiful potholders to my kitchen!! I especially like the one on the left…on the right side of the potholder, the little things on the right look like footprints to me…
Also, congratulations on your new home and your new studio!!!

  16. Please enter me in your Potholder Give-a-way. I love these fabric combos. It would be like a mini-makeover for my kitchen. Thanks!
