The Rapunzel Chair With Minnie and Red Hen Potholder

I was tying that day’s  baling twine on my Rapunzel Chair when I realized it was almost done.  Or that it would be done when we stopped feed the animals hay this spring.

Minnie has really come to love sitting in the chair, one reason I kept the seat clear and added more twine to it to make a sturdy seat.  I thought about selling it, but it somehow feels too personal.  Like it’s already a part of the back porch.

And I thought of how when Minnie sits on the chair, Red Hen is often hanging around on the porch with her.

As much as I believe Minnie thinks she’s a hen, I’m beginning to believe that Red Hen thinks she’s a cat.   She likes to be with Minnie as much as she does the other hens.

So I got the idea to make a potholder of Minnie on my Rapunzel Chair with her friend, Red Hen at her side.  I  knew I’d enjoy making the chair with all its loops and strings. I used four different colors of thread to get the right effect.

I will have five of these potholders for sale, once I sew them all together.  These are sold out, but I’ll be making some more. They are $25 each + $5 shipping.    If you’d like one for your kitchen, just email me at [email protected].  I take checks and paypal.
