The Canada Goose couple, that Bud chased out of the pond this morning were back in the pond at feeding time.
I decided to name them after Ruth and Wayne, the couple who live at The Mansion, (the assisted living facility where Jon and I volunteer) who are getting married in May.
This is the third year that I’ve seen the goose couple nesting in the marsh behind the farm. Canada Geese mate for life. It seems a good omen to give them Ruth and Wayne’s name.
And from now on, whenever I see the geese, I’ll think of Ruth and Wayne, how they found love at a time in life when many people give up on it.
Lovely!
This is so sweet, Maria, and I love the little pussywillows, too!
We have lots of pussywillow growing in our wetlands. It’s such a rich and fertile place.
