Jon wrote about the kids in Brooklyn and Philadelphia who are hanging rainbows in their windows on his blog yesterday. When the kids take walks around their neighborhoods they see the rainbows and it helps them stay connected to their friends and classmates.
So Jon came up with the idea of painting a rainbow for The Mansion, as symbol to let them know that so many people are still there and thinking of t them. That they are not alone even if it feels that way right now.
We happened to have just about all of the colors of the rainbow in half-filled cans of paint in our basement from painting the rooms in our house. We used a canvas drop cloth to paint the rainbow on and tomorrow we’ll bring it to The Mansion and hang it outside so everyone can see it.
