I’ve been listening to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s daily updates, because he gives honest, accurate information about what is happening in New York concerning the coronavirus.
I also find his talks hopeful, not in a pollyannish way but realistically. In the way I’ve read that people in England during the Blitz were hopeful.
At the end of one of his updates, Cuomo said to be sure to find the joy in your life.
It’s so easy to be fearful and slip into negative thinking and despair these days. But I believe that it’s important for us to be happy when we can be. To find the joys that life has to offer no matter what we’re otherwise going through.
Of course, there are times when this may seem or actually not be possible. All the more reason to allow ourselves to feel it when we can.
That’s why I made these potholders. To remind us to find the joy, and to bring a little bit of color and light into our lives.
