Corona Kimono April 10, 2020

Corona Kimono today’s drawing

For today’s thread drawing on my Corona Kimono, I used a text message between me and a friend who works at a hospital. (when her work is slow it’s a good thing)

Then I brought my work into it and drew some of the tools I use every day in my studio.  Including the speaker (above the water spritzer, seam ripper and shears) that brings me music, news and stories.

It was a windy day, so I filled in the background with last autumn’s leaves that are still blowing around on the farm. There’s music around the speaker and today’s date.

Today’s drawing traveled off the flat surface of the back of the Kimono, over the seam and onto the front.

  1. Marie,

This kimono stitching is the most beautiful and creative work I have seen on your website. Hope you and Jon stay well.

    1. Thanks Lynn. I used to do a lot of this kind of stitching, but haven’t in a long time. It was my friend Emily who reminded me about it and that it would work well on the Kimono.
