A raindrop from below the water of the shallow muddy pond radiates out making bigger and bigger circles. If it had a sound it would be the distant, smoothed-out chatter of spring peepers.
Beneath the biggest circle
a puff of mud…like smoke
when it clears a frog appears
her nose and feet erased by mud
