Lacy and subtle at first glance, yet intricate and filled with so many colors and textures when seen close up.
This is Suzy’s last Shawl for the season. There won’t be more until next fall. Suzy’s Shawl evoked a feeling of luscious calm when I first saw it. Then the words came to me….Tea and Roses…and I knew its name.
That’s a contrasting stripe of Issachar’s wool in all that cream and dusty rose. The rest comes from Suzy’s mohair goats Lucy, Alice, Ruth and April, with a bit of wool from her stash.
Suzy hand spins and hand knits each shawl. Every one a unique piece of wearable art.
I’m wearing one of Suzy’s shawls as I write it. It is soft and war, but it also makes me feel a little bit special having it draped over my shoulders. As if I deserve to wear its beautify and elegance everyday.
