From Dress to Quilt

Jill's daughter Megan

Jill and I did a trade.  She gave me  box of fabric and some Vintage Hankies, and I made her a Vintage Hankie Scarf.

When Jill  recognized  some of the fabric she sent me in my Caretakers Quilt, she sent me this photo.  That’s Jill’s daughter Megan in 1976 wearing a Holly Hobby Dress that Jill made for her.  You can see some of the scarps from that dress in the photo of my Caretakers Quilt.

I love the connection, from dress to quilt. Those scarps waiting around for over 30 years to be used again.  All the meaning and memories in a scarp of fabric.
