I just dropped off a bunch of Happy Housewife Potholders at Kim’s, for her to sew together. I used the technique I learned at Gee’s Bend to design them. So there’s lots of diagonals and triangles to keep them interesting. I’ll be selling these at the Bedlam Farm Open House.
Kenna gave me the Happy Housewife fabric and there’s only a small piece of it, so these are limited. But I will be making more for those of you who want them but can’t come to the Open House.
These happy housewife potholders have simply blown me away. The Gees Bend trip has obviously triggered a deep response from you. I’m so glad the bedlam farm journal led me to this. I admire Jon’s work, but yours is a fine continuation of that decisive northeastern female line that flows through Ann Bradstreet, Emily Dickinson, Susan B Anthony, etc.
Oh wow, now that’s a really great compliment, thanks Tom
Hi Maria,
Just look at the clothes those women wear to clean the house! Boggles the imagination!

I keep thinking of June Cleaver, Janet.
