Lulu’s Lips

Lulu

One of the things I didn’t talk about in our latest podcast Life With Donkeys, From Simon to Fanny and Lulu are a donkey’s lips.

They are incredibly soft and use them to reach out and take treats and eat grass.  I love the feel of the donkey lips on my hand as they take a treat from me.  They use them in a similar way that an elephant uses her trunk.

I didn’t know I got this photo of Lulu’s lips reaching out for grass until I looked at the picture.  It really shows how they use their lips to reach, feel and grab. They’re also very sensitive and can distinguish between grasses.

If you haven’t listened to our podcast about Donkey’s already, you can listen to it here.
