I have much less wool this season than last. And some of it, the coral and lilac, is already sold out.
But I still have natural White, Teal and a new color Dusty Rose, are sold out too. But I do still have Issachar’s Black roving for sale. for sale in my Etsy Shop. You can buy them here.
Each skein of wool is 200 yards of 3 ply worsted. They are $27 each and it’s $5 shipping for one and $1 for each additional one.
I also have Black Roving from Issachar for sale. It’s a mix of Cormo, Romney and Blueface Leicester. It’s 8oz’s for $28 + $10 shipping. You can buy it here.
For those of you who don’t know, roving can be used for hand-spinning, felting, and weaving.
My natural white wool comes from Rosemary, Liam and Kim. It’s a mix of Romney, Border Leicester, and Karakul. It is the last of Rosemary’s wool. And although one sheep can’t be replaced with another, soon I’ll have more white Romney wool from the new lamb Merricat.
The teal and dusty rose wool come from Griselle, Socks and Pumpkin. It’s a mix of Romney, Border Leicester and Cheviot. This batch of wool also has the last wool from another of my Romney sheep Griselle. And although Griselle’s wool leaned towards brown, I now have Lori’s wool (which is gray) to mix with Socks, Pumpkins and Suzy’s in the spring.
As my flock changes so does my wool.
I’ll only be shearing Asher and Issachar once a year from now on because their wool grows slowly. So I won’t have any of their wool or roving again till next year. And I’m not sure how long it will take the lambs wool to grow long enough for wool.
It does keep things interesting….
