When Kitty and Anne first got their feathers, one of the ways I could tell them apart was that Kitty had a single black and white feather on each of her wings. But as she grew, the feather was either hidden by her other feathers or fell out and grew back white.
Today I saw that feather again.
Since the hens molted and their feathers have grown back, they look fluffy and clean like they haven’t since they first grew their feathers. And now the black and white feather, which is slight, is back.
So for the first time in a long time, I can tell Kitty and Anne apart. I don’t know if this feather will remain, but time would tell.
