I had to call in backup today to get another bandage on Lulu’s hoof. She was fine with me picking it clean, but when I pulled out the bandage, she wiggled her hoof out of my hand and walked away.
After a couple of tries on my own, I got Jon to help. Once the halter was on her and Jon was holding onto it and scratching her ears, Lulu relented and let me bandage her hoof.
I could still see the hole that Matt, our farrier made to release the puss. I cleaned it out, and it looks like it’s healing. I wrapped the bandage on extra thick since it doesn’t last long on the ice and hard-packed earth in the pole barn.
Both donkeys got a treat when we finished and lots more attention from Jon.
