Some Of Our Barn Swallows Nests

The barn swallows use the structure of the barn to make their nests

I hear the high-pitched chatter before I see them.  It sounds like they’re talking to each other.

I look through the open doorway into the barn and there are two barn swallows silhouetted against the window in the door opposite me.

They hang in the air, their wings never stopping.  Full of motion yet motionless.

It’s only moments before they swoop past me into the light of the morning.

The barn swallows made use of the electrical conduit.

This nest seems to grow out of the beam

And this nest is nestled on top of the electrical box
