I made another of the silk bird pillows yesterday, this time the Cardinal.
There were lots of people who were interested in my Cardinal Pillow. But I only have the one and it was sold before I even made it.
I still have the finch that I will make into a pillow next week. And I have two other silk pieces that can’t be made into pillows because of some of the materials in them, but I think I’ll make small wall hangings from them.

It’s always so interesting to me and something I don’t really understand, how I can have something like these silk birds for so long and it’s only now that I feel drawn to create with them. And that I found them in the attic after so many years, as if they were just waiting for the right time to show themselves.
It will always be a mystery to me and one I happily embrace.

The Cranes and Bird in the cherry blossoms that I’ll make into small wall hangings.

That Cardinal pillow is a stunner!
Might be time to hire an assistant or intern? Just an idea… Spread your wealth of knowledge! And I know the difference of not having to manage someone else.
I’ve thought of getting some help Judy, but I really can’t think of how that would work.
What wonderful finds, Maria ! You’re right, it does seem that they were meant to be found now.
They’re so beautiful !
Thank you Laura!
Maria, now that I see this close-up photo of the cardinal pillow, I am even more in love with it! I am soooo glad it was available to me and can’t wait until it arrives. Thank you for your artistry and fine work!
