Joanne asked for two Holding Pillows, “dark” is all she said about the colors.
The two Holding Pillows above are what I came up with. One a little slimmer than the other. And both so different from each other.
It wasn’t my intention. Actually I didn’t have any intentions when I began making the pillows. I just let them happen and they did.
I didn’t think when I began each one that they should have something in common. As I said, I didn’t think much at all, I just let the process proceed. Looking at them now I question if I shouldn’t have.
But they are what they are.
I told Joanne if she wanted one that looked more like the other to let me know.
I lost count of how many Holding Pillows I made last year, and often the people I made them for asked for certain colors. It’s always a little tricky, but I’ve found trust has to be the biggest part of the equation.
The person I make the pillow for trusting me and my process, and me trusting myself to be true to me while taking requests into consideration.
That said, I don’t want someone receiving something from me that they don’t want, for whatever reason.
For all I know, Joanne may have wanted to very different Holding Pillows.
Doubt, I have found, is part of any true faith.
