I didn’t realize it when I began this quilt, but when I look at it now I think, “When it started to get cold I started to think warm. ” Like a autumn garden covered in leaves. The deep red and faded pink Mums and fallen oak leaves. The orange marigolds and maple leaves. The blue Evergeens and the streaks of sunlight that touch parts of the earth for the first time since the spring.
It’s my Red Garden. Cover me up, keep me warm and remind me of the colors that I crave in the winter.
