The wicked witch of the East had the house dropped on her. In the movie, she had the striped socks poking from under the house. The wicked witch of the West had the flying monkeys, crystal ball and said, “I’ll get you my pretty and your little dog too!” Enjoy!
The witch in the Wizard of Oz, famous for going after Dorothy and melting at the end, was the Wicked Witch of the West. According to Google, there’s also a Wicked Witch of the East but she only appeared briefly in Frank Baum’s books. So, Maria, I’d say you’re more right than Jon. 🙂
The wicked witch of the East is the one who was wearing the striped socks. We only saw her legs and feet after Dorothy’s house landed in her. The Wicked Witch of the West was Dorothy’s nemesis, but we never saw her socks so don’t know if she also wore stripes socks like her sister.
