Spring Under The Apple Tree

Jon and I are taking our cues from the animals and making the most of these spring days when it’s warm enough to sit outside, without the company of biting insects.  When the sun comes out in the afternoon, even if just for a little while, we take some time to sit under the apple tree.

We watch and listen to the birds who flit from feeder to feeder and tree to tree.

Zip quickly finds Jon, hopping into his lap.  The hens come pecking around, thinking we might have some food for them. Fate is focused on the sheep and  Zinnia prowls for something to eat.   Bud stalks the birds and squirrel in the maples in the dog run.

The donkeys sun themselves on the other side of the fence and the sheep quietly chew their cud.
