Frost On The Naked Ladies

Frost on the Naked Lady leaves

Somewhere around 60 degrees the people who predict the weather promised for today.  And they were right.  I opened my studio door early to let the warm air in.

It’s almost hard to believe that just yesterday morning there was frost on my Naked Ladies.

These the the lilies that sprout long thick green leaves early in the spring.   The pink  trumpet flowers with magenta and purple highlights and glowing yellow stamens broadcast from the top of a long stem, late in the summer. By that time the leaves long gone.

It’s the lack of leaves that give them their name.

The pattern of the frost on the leaves looked like the feathers of some many of the birds who are eating the last of the seeds from our feeders.
